A wonderful and unique wine made from perfectly ripe Sangiovese harvested from the Osawa Vineyard on the Mangatahi Terraces in Hawke's Bay. Carefully destemmed Sangiovese berries filled an Hungarian amphora with a 20% portion of whole bunches. Hand plunged during fermentation and sealed up on full skins and seeds for 180 days. Finally pressed to one aged oak barrel and a clay egg for 5 months.

Aromas of red and black cherries, dark tobacco, hazelnut, tobacco, and dried flowers. The wine is medium-bodied with wonderful brooding concentration. Red and black fruits, gravel stone tannin and fine acidity and length.
